Section 5: Limousines Laws and Regulations
Chapter 17 Local Municipalities
Limousines Laws and Regulations
Local Municipalities
As a professional service in Washington State a limousine company is primarily governed by the legislative government. With that said, the legislative government has made special arrangements for some local municipalities. The City of Seattle and the Port of Seattle at the time of this writing are the only municipalities that have been granted the ability of “enforcement” and “regulation”.
Port of Seattle
Companies or operators who wish to provide commercial transportation services at the airport must be in compliance with all federal, state, county, city and port rules and regulations. Companies or operators must have a valid and current Ground Transportation Operating Agreement on file and must adhere to all the terms, conditions, and attachments set forth in that document. The Ground Transportation Office is located on the third floor of Seatac airport parking garage and can be reached at 206-787-5906.
City of Seattle
All limousine companies must have a Seattle business license. Self-employed drivers who work as contractors must also have a business license. Your limousine must pass inspection before you can get or renew a state limousine license to operate in Seattle or King County.
